Whales Startup Sound

wav (310K)

Ever wanted an Unsound theme for your computer? Here's a startup sound taken from the Nautical Tale. In this scene, the wind is completely still and the sun has been fixed in the sky for months.

We rowed and rowed,
always growing weaker and weaker
and rationing our supplies more severely.
The sea was lonely, and yet full of angry beasts
calling and claiming our sins.

Recorded by Mike Ciul and Jim Speer in October 1997

The voice of the whales is represented by Jim playing zurna.
