Unsound is proud to present this long-awaited automatic-music project. It sports original cover art by cartoonist Matt Howarth, author of such delightful titles as Those Annoying Post Bros.
Unsound Machine is the name of the tape series and also the name of the feedback network that produces the tapes. Once we've set up our devices, they produce a neverending stream of unrepeating MIDI and audio signals without human interference.
The output is recorded onto tape in 30-minute segments. We change the
configuration between Side A and Side B of each 60-minute tape to give
you more variety.
We used to offer custom orders. However, some of the equipment that produced the Machine extinguished itself on one particularly hot day of continuous running. The ideas of the Machine live on at Radio Eyeballsun, and you can contact us if you want a special version of an episode.
Specify a sample for us to use: Request a specific sound or piece of a recording. If we don't have it, we'll try to find something similar.
Send us a sample!
If you have the sample in a web or email readable form, please contact us
at machine@eyeballsun.org.
Extra-creative requests are especially appreciated. If you have a particular feel you're looking for, describe it or give us a list of adjectives. Three is a good number of adjectives. If you want us to base your recording on some underlying concept, tell us about it. We'll do anything we consider reasonable in the name of art.
